A vast plain of snow and ice. Bitting wind discurages travel, and respite from the cold is nearly impossible. The first thing you will find past the mountains. Why it is so cold when there is a forest and desert (Valley of the Blades) nearby is a mystery.

This large crack in the ice is guarded by silent guards of the Rufus known as the Ice Shadows, named so because of their strange ability to blend in with ice and snow. The only way across is a large stone bridge, or so it seems. There is a less guarded rope bridge, but whether it is still standing is a mystery.
